Autumn is beginning to settle over Wildwood 🍂. The air feels cooler, the hedgerows are dotted with red berries, and the plants are slowly drawing their energy back down towards the earth.
It feels like a good time to come together, to notice what the season is offering, and to make a little medicine for the months ahead!
With that in mind, I’m delighted to be offering Medicine of the Hedgerow: A Guided Forage and Workshop.
This year’s workshop falls at the New Moon - a fitting day to slow down, turn inward and notice the quiet withdrawal of energy happening all around us, as the land begins its journey towards winter.
We’ll begin at 10am with an informal, heart-led exploration of the ancient magic of the hedgerow, focusing on Hawthorn and Rosehip. Both plants have been celebrated for centuries - Hawthorn for association with the heart, and Rosehip for her capacity to nourish, protect and restore the skin.
Next we'll head out into the hedgerows, where you'll forage for your Autumn berries and meet other seasonal plant allies.
Back at the apothecary kitchen, you'll create two beautiful seasonal remedies to take home: First, your own organic Rosehip-infused skin oil - a luxurious, vitamin-rich remedy, inspired by Rosehip’s long association with nourishing and caring for the skin. Second, a Hawthorn Elixir with brandy and honey - a delicious, warming preparation rooted in traditional folk herbalism and the centuries-old association between Hawthorn and the heart.
Both remedies will be made by you, using your foraged berries and pure, organic ingredients , ready to take home and become part of your own Autumn apothecary.
