This hands-on foraging workshop will begin outdoors, moving slowly through the ancient woodland to learn how to confidently identify the wild weeds of Spring, understand their medicinal and nutritional uses, and harvest them respectfully and sustainably.
We'll be wild harvesting nettle, cleavers, plantain, chickweed, water mint and other seasonal gifts from the forest.
Then we’ll congregate back in the apothecary kitchen to turn our freshly foraged plants into medicine. Sitting together around the table, we’ll work with our hands - chopping, infusing, stirring - learning simple, traditional methods for making remedies you can easily recreate at home. This is a deeply nourishing part of the day: unhurried, communal and rooted in the ancient practice of making medicine together.
Along the way, you’ll learn:
-
How to safely identify key spring plants
-
When and how to harvest with care for the plant and the land
-
Traditional ways to prepare herbs as medicine
-
Simple apothecary skills you can use in your own kitchen
You’ll leave with three remedies you’ve made yourself, along with a deeper confidence, a sense of connection, and the quiet joy that comes from shared experience around a table.
This course is suitable for beginners - no prior knowledge needed. Just a willingness to be curious, to learn, and to work with your hands.
